What’s a typical day like at Ridleys?

No two days are quite the same, it all depends on your role. Here’s a snapshot of life behind the wheel:

Day Drivers

Your day usually starts around 6am

After completing your legal walk-round checks, you’ll head out of the yard and be in position for your first pickup

Once the school run is complete, it’s on to private hire work

This could be anything from a school swimming trip to a history tour, a visit to Cadbury World, or even the local silage farm (yes, really).

After that, it’s back for the afternoon school run

Getting everyone home safe and sound.

Followed by cleaning and refuelling your coach

Before heading home and sleeping in your own bed.

Tour Drivers

Tour driving starts when the itinerary says go

Or when your instincts tell you it should. You’ll allow time for checks and preparation, collect your passengers from their hotel, and set off to deliver the day’s planned adventure.

Along the way, you’ll welcome customers

By sharing local knowledge, offering helpful insights, and adapting when plans change because flexibility is part of the job

While away from the depot you’ll look after your coach

You’ll keep your coach clean, fuelled, and fully compliant at all times.
